The next day, Friday, May 18th, we traveled further North in New Mexico and came to the Alien Landing zone of Roswell, NM. Again, we took advantage of our Elks membership and stayed at the Roswell Elks Lodge where they have a nice campground for traveling, or wandering Elk, as I call ourselves. They have Water and Electric (50 amp service) and a sanitation dump site on the property. all this for a donation of only $20.00. We also took advantage of their hospitality and had dinner with them. They offer a full menu for both Lunch and Dinner each day.
In the afternoon we went into town and visited the Roswell UFO Museum. Not much to speak of, but interesting to see all the information about that well documented close encounter in one place.
Awesome kids! We loved both of those places. We boondocked near Carlsbad Caverns on a pulloff off a dirt road. Could see the Caverns park way way off in the distance from our camping spot.
ReplyDeleteRoswell we liked a lot too but as you said, not that bg a deal. You gotta do it though. It's famous after all.
Have a great time and safe travels. Wish you were going to be around for our June Rally up here in NY.
Looks like your having a great time Roswell is a spot I’ve yet to make - safe travels
