Tallahassee, Florida

Our next stop was Tallahassee, Florida, the Capital City of Florida.  Our impression was that it was a very nice and very clean city.  The Capital Building and the University of Florida were beautiful.



We made our first overnight stop at the Tallahassee Elks Lodge # 937.  They had a small camping area with 6 hookups for overnight guests.  A very friendly and welcoming Lodge. 


They actually have the original ceremonial furniture used in the first Elks Lodge from New York City.  See the story below:










And their kindness to a traveling Elk was outstanding!

    Thanks for including the story of the Lodge's furniture. Artfully designed pieces are history at the Tallahassee Lodge.

    Thanks Ginny. We actually got to sit in the original Exalted Ruler’s chair. The woodwork and stained glass was excellent
