Overview of our Southwest Trip

We plan on leaving our Florida Home this coming Wednesday, May 2, 2018, and heading West through Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas.  We will then head up to New Mexico, and Colorado.  Then over to Utah, Nevada, and Arizona.  The final part of the trip is the return back to the New York area.


We plan on staying at a lot of  Cracker Barrel Restaurants and Walmarts for quick overnight stops on our route.  We also plan on staying at many Elks Lodges as well for either single or multiple nights stays.  The plan is to visit various areas such as New Orleans, San Antonio, Roswell, Carlsbad Caverns, Alburquque, Santa Fe, The Rockies, National Parks, Sedona, Monument Valley, and the Grand Canyon for multiple days.

These are our plans, but as you know plans change.


So, come with us, tell us what you liked in these areas and give us your advice as to what to see and what to do.  We may even follow your advice.

Start of a New Adventure

Elsie and I have not been able to do much of the traveling we had planned for when we got into motorhoming.  A lot of that had to do with health issues and responsibilities caring for one of our parents.

Now it's time for us to go about and see this beautiful country.

We are planning on a two-month journey across The South and South Western United States.
We plan on documenting our journey on this blog and in periodic emails to some people who might be interested in this mini adventure.

We are now making last minute plans and deciding what to bring with us on the trip. By the way, we will also be traveling with a rather senior gentleman, our constant companion, Lucky Dog Ford.  Lucky is going on 15 which in human terms is well beyond comprehension.

We plan on leaving our home in Florida on May 2nd and taking our time to see the areas of this country that are just spectacular.  If we stay on plan and on schedule, we should be back in New York state by the 4th of July.
